Assessing the IT landscape
As part of our overall strategy we deemed it essential to access the current IT Landscape of the organisation. In order to deliver reliable, scalable, and highly available IT infrastructures that support B-to-B exchanges, horizontal services and enabling technologies, Kapstone sought the development of an module to conduct an assessment of the client's IT environments. Working with the technology officer on site, the Kapstone team developed and conducted individual department assessments. The goal was to determine baseline infrastructure capabilities and limitations, compare these to current and future business requirements, and provide findings and recommendations. We looked at technology and processes in areas such as application development, business continuity, disaster recovery, security, performance and capacity, and systems and network management. We also analyzed IT vendor outsourcing contract relationships.
As a result of our detailed assessment, We introduced a greater sense of confidence in use of their present IT infrastructures. We reduced the level of risk associated using vendor created IT solutions. We also made the customer aware of recent developments in IT while validating their current systems.
